These photos were all taken by an LAPG member. They show (top to bottom): WJ897 on finals to Leicester's runway 28 during the annual air display in August 1977. Engine runs at Leicester, spring 1977. On the tarmac at East Midlands, spring 1977. Behind is Douglas C-47B Dakota, G-AMPO. Leicester Airshow 1977. WJ897 waits on Leicester's runway 28 threshold during the annual air display in August 1979. WJ897 lands on Seething's short runway after its display. The surviving section of runway at this wartime airfield was 2500' which was very tight for the Varsity which was the largest aircraft to land there for many years. The Varsity sits on the tarmac at Guernsey Airport in October 1977. Alongside is a British Island Airways Handley Page Herald. The LAPG flew to Guernsey Air Rally in 1977 and 1978.
